“I suppose in the end, the whole of life becomes an act of letting go, but what always hurts the most is not taking a moment to say goodbye.”

I know it’s not all truth or false, black or white. And maybe he tends to over simplify some things but anyway, whatever…I love this guy.

I’ve watched and appreciated all his films and I think he has done (and still does) such an amazing effort teaching the world (and the US themselves) a bit about the real world that “Americans” (“people from the US”, actually, since we are all “Americans” by continent) inhabit. This bit of his speech, for example, is really flawless.

Summer: You know, I dream sometimes about flying. It starts out like I’m running really, really fast. I’m like, superhuman. And the terrain starts to get really rocky and steep. And then I’m running so fast that my feet aren’t touching the ground. And I’m floating, and it’s like this amazing, amazing realness. I’m free. I’m safe. Then I realize… I’m completely alone. And then I wake up.

“You’re waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you; but you don’t know for sure. But it doesn’t matter. How can it not matter to you where that train will take you?”“Because you’ll be together.”
